Boss Men – Chemical Peels

Boss Men – Chemical Peels

Boss Men Chemical Peels are a quick way to help with wrinkles, scars, blemishes, sun damage and enlarge pores without lasers or injections.  The peel removes dead skin from the top later of your skin which triggers new skin cells.  This will not only tighten the skin but will also assist with many skin imperfections.

What Is A Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels are a treatment that helps exfoliate the outer layers of the skin so the epidermal (outer layer) slough off dry, dead skin cells. Peels also help build collagen which, over time, can help fill in the scarred areas of the skin, creating a smoother textural appearance and a glow to the skin.

Chemical Peel Treatment Process

During the treatment, a chemical solution will be applied to the skin which penetrates certain layers of the skin (depending on the depth of the peel). This creates a controlled injury to the epidermal and dermal layer. The consultant will then apply post-care products and will give you at-home post care instructions to follow.

Potential Risks and Side Effects

Some risk/side effects with our chemical peels often happen when compliance is not fully followed. Picking of the skin is the biggest concern. This can result in more scarring and can create hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation. Sun exposure while healing from a chemical peel, can also result in hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. This could possibly create a rash and discomfort to the skin. Skin may be tight and red after the peel and some patients may experience itching. An antihistamine is recommended if this occurs.

Chemical Peel Benefits

Benefits that chemical peels offer to the skin are overall skin health, tightening of the pores, and softening of fine lines and wrinkles. Peels can also reduce sun damage, bring clarity to breakout prone skin and improve tone, texture, color and scarring of the skin.

Who Should Get A Chemical Peel

Anyone looking to promote better overall skin health would be a perfect candidate to receive a chemical peel. Skin Boss has chemical peels that are safe to receive while pregnant and while breastfeeding. There are also peels for patients of all ethnic backgrounds (and including teens) that have sensitive skin, acne prone skin, aging skin, and rosacea. A patient in an active stage of a cold sore on their face, or someone with an underlying skin condition would not be a good candidate for a skin peel.
