BELOTERO®

BELOTERO® is a hyaluronic acid injectable filler. It is a soft gel that integrates into facial skin tissue to help fill moderate to severe wrinkles and fine lines. Some examples of treatment areas would be nasolabial folds (smile lines), chin wrinkles, and lip lines. It is a versatile product that gives a natural look and feel.

After a thorough consultation with your Skin Boss nurse injector, photos are taken, and the goals are discussed with you. The skin is cleansed and depending on the area of treatment, a topical numbing cream may be applied. The skin is often marked with a pencil for injection points. When the dermal filler is being administered, it is done with a very fine needle or cannula (not sharp but looks like a needle). Small amounts of the dermal filler are then applied to different plains under the skin. This is relatively a short in-office treatment with little downtime, and the results are immediate. Before the treatment, there are a few different things you can do in order to prepare. If you take blood-thinning medication, it’s best that you discontinue the use of those medications for at least one week before the treatment commences. Alcohol use (especially red wine) should be ceased 1-2 days before the injections that take place, as should aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications, Vitamin E, fish oil, St. John’s Wort, and Ginkgo Biloba.

Some swelling, redness, and bruising is possible immediately following the procedure, though this will be temporary. Most patients can resume their normal activities right away without issue. There are other rare risks that we would discuss at your visit when we see you here at Skin Boss. There are a few things to keep in mind as you are recovering and enjoying the results:

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
• Avoid extreme heat and cold exposures.
• Use sunscreen to protect your skin when outside.
• Avoid strenuous exercise immediately after your appointment.
• Apply a cold compress to the area as needed to reduce swelling and help with pain.
